Our Mysterious Disappearance this Week

Ok, so it's been a bit quiet on this site of late. That's because we secretly plotted an escape to the snow and snuck out in the middle of the day on Monday. ;)

Actually we went up to Bear Valley for 3 days. The timing actually ended up being pretty good as far as the weather went. It started snowing just as we were getting to BV, and snowed through Tuesday night sometime. Wednesday was nice and sunny, would have been the PERFECT day skiing due to the nice light powder left by the storm and the good weather.

As for the girls, they had mixed thoughts about the snow. They didn't really like the snow falling on their faces, and they didn't like having to wade through it. When they could walk on top of the snow, or on the road, they were much happier. We didn't get to try any activities until the last day when we took the girls sledding on a little hill behind the condo. Sam said she liked it, but didn't want to do it again (too close to naptime). Riley on the other hand kept saying and signing more, more. She loved it for about 3 rides, then she signed that she wanted to eat. I guess she had worked up an appetite. All in all, they were both very cute in the snow even if I couldn't get them to make snow angels with Mommy.

We are now back and have reported in to the appropriate "authorities". I can't wait to take them again.
