I'm a fun mom, really, I am.

Last night at work I was mercilessly teased because I don't allow my children to watch hours and hours of mindless tv, put them in cloth diapers, and generally try to feed them an organic, healthy diet.

The tv thing - they do get to watch, but I admit I do limit it to less than an hour a day (sometimes none) of Baby Einstein, sign language DVD, or Plaza Sesamo (Spanish Sesame Street.) The girls don't mind, and they seem to really enjoy these shows. They are however, developing a real sense of humor, love of exploration (they've figured out how to break out of their play area on a regular basis), and a certain creativity in problem solving that you just don't get from spending hours in front of the television.

As for the diapers - that just makes good sense. We have the kind that go on just like the disposables, they're cheaper in the long run, AND best of all, my girls don't get diaper rashes from wearing them like they do with the gel filled disposables.

Lastly, the diet. I think it just makes good sense to start them off right, but I have no illusions that they will remain preservative, nitrate, sugar free their entire lives. I just want to give them a basis to fall back on.

Anyway, they kept taunting me with a very sarcastic "Let's go play at the Fishers house today - it's so fun." WELL I'M TELLING YOU NOW, it is fun. The girls laugh, giggle, and play every day. So there, all you skeptics out there.

Boy, you're all about the good sense today. Ask Andrea about things just being good business sense...
